Theres no better way to introduce blog post no.2 then to feature one of the most iconic designs of our + 110 year history. The moccasin toe and the significance of our lightweight blown rubber white outsoles. Perfectly fit for these warming days and staying comfortable in whatever environment you're in.
The white traction tread sole was introduced in the early 1950's and was one of the stand out details on iconic style no.877. This boot was manufactured as a hunting boot named "The Irish Setter Sport Boot" after its resemblance in colour to the Setter breed of dog, providing great support from heel to toe when spending prolonged amounts of time on your feet.
As popularity and demand grew a few years later style no.875 was born. This style featured a curved puritan stitch line through the inside of the upper and a shortened height of 6 inches. The comfort and durability of both of these styles were valued and adopted across a range of different work types and still used up until this very day for that purpose.
For its original intention the boot worked brilliantly on grass, and harsh terrains. Its un-heeled outsole means when wearing the boot, each stride is distributed evenly from heel to toe which creates better support and posture. Its shallow traction means only minimal amounts of dirt can build up and can be easily removed when necessary.
So, take some time to scroll through our first London Look book inspired by this iconic design.
